MINIMUM MAIL ORDER

There is a minimum order of £30 excluding VAT. The website will not be able to process any orders below this, however you are welcome to collect any quantity of plants from the nursery if pre-ordered by telephone or e-mail.

POST AND PACKING CHARGES

P&P is £10.00 for up to 9 plants and £4.95 for 10 plants or over.

Highlands of Scotland, Isles of Scilly and Isle of Man will be calculated at an additional 100% P&P. We apologise for the additional charge, but this reflects the cost to us for these areas.

Northern Ireland and the Channel Isles are now classed as International Post, so please do not send any money with your order - we will send you a quotation.

We can send plants to most International destinations - please ask us for an approximate carriage quote. For example, sending about 20 large 2 litre plants to France will cost around £35 for postage and packing.

SUBSTITUTES

Although we make every effort to have all listed plants available, it is possible that we may only have small quantities of rarer plants available. It is not our policy to substitute plants unless you have expressed a preference for this. Please indicate on the order form if you would like us to substitute out of stock plants.

ORDERING

We will send out orders approximately every 2 weeks, at the beginning of the week so that they are ready to be unpacked before the weekend. In winter months you will be notified of an approximate despatch date, depending on weather conditions. Delivery will be by Parcelforce 24 or 48 hours for most areas, an extra day for more remote areas.

We aim to send your order off to you within 2 weeks of receiving it and we will acknowledge your order by e-mail or letter normally within 48 hours of receipt. If there are any problems we will contact you to let you know.

ON ARRIVAL

Our plants are in good condition when they are despatched to you - when you receive them please follow the instructions below to ensure that they remain healthy and give you pleasure for many years to come:

Please check the contents of your parcel against your invoice.

Unpack your order straight away and plant when weather permits.

If the soil is frozen or very wet, plants will live happily with frost protection under glass, watered sparingly until conditions improve.

Some herbaceous perennials will be sent out when they are dormant - you may like to carefully knock them out of the pot to reassure yourself that there is a plant there!

When planting, dig a hole much larger than the pot and fill around the plant with loose soil. Water in well.

Please notify us within 7 days if there are any problems with your delivery. We are constantly striving to improve our service to our customers, and would be grateful for any comments you wish to make.

If you are unhappy with your order please contact us on 01939 291 475 - the call will be charged at National Rate - we aim to sort out any problems with 14 working days. Please see complaints section for further details.

OFFICE WORKING HOURS

We are a working nursery, and there will be times when no-one is in the office. If we are not available, we operate an answerphone service, and we will get back in touch with you as soon as possible. Please do leave a message, as we usually pop into the office regularly throughout the day.

ORDER FULFILMENT

If you wish to order from our web site we normally fulfil your orders with 14 days of receipt of your order. During extreme weather conditions we will hold on to the order to protect your plants, however, we will contact you to let you know what is happening.

Please note that we do not process your credit/debit card or cheque until your order is ready for despatch and you will be provided with an invoice detailing your transactions and the method of payment.

We take great care in selecting and packing our plants and we would be grateful if you could let us know the condition in which your plants arrive. This enables us to monitor our couriers to ensure that they take as much care of our plants as we do! Our plants are 1.7 - 2 litres in size (unless otherwise stated) and come complete with 12 -14 months release Osmocote Plus fertiliser. They should require no supplementary feeding until the following year. Viv has been market testing the new plant sizes and has found that his customers prefer the larger two litre plants.

Viv says 'I think we all know that with the all too common vagaries of the English climate a larger, older plant is more likely to survive in the garden environment better than a younger adolescent. For this purpose with an exception of a few, all plants will now be sold in this new larger size. So please take care when you are comparing my prices with other fellow growers that you are actually comparing like with like. What may seem a bargain elsewhere is probably a rooted cutting or a plug!'
